Irina Boyarova is Olympic champion in running. She has no family, no friends – the whole life of the girl is devoted to sports.
Once at the sea resort Irina has an affair with a doctor Dima. They both quickly understand that what’s happening between them is something serious. However by accidence the lovers have to separate not having talked about their feelings.
Soon Irina realizes she is pregnant. She comes to Dima’s place to tell him the joyful news, but her bright hopes suddenly fall apart.
